Celebrating the FCC Approval for Village Radio: A New Chapter for the Chalfonte Foundation

We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the Chalfonte Theatre: the recent approval of our FCC license for our very own community radio station! The approval provides for a new community radio station to broadcast on the FM dial at 99.7 in Elk Rapids and across the globe on our website. This milestone marks a significant step forward in our mission to foster arts, culture, and community engagement in Elk Rapids and beyond through an internet live stream.

With the FCC approval secured, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen McDonald as the Station Manager for Village Radio. Our team is hard at work preparing for the launch of the community radio station, with live broadcasting set to begin during an inaugural broadcast week coinciding with Harbor Days in Elk Rapids at the start of August 2024. This will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the diverse programming and community connections Village Radio will offer.
