Vision, Mission, Values
For over 20 years the Chalfonte Foundation has served hundreds of children and their families in every stage of their lives; from birth through death. Our mission is based on the belief that every child deserves a life free from poverty in all its forms. We value curiosity, imagination, and uniqueness and are committed to fostering happiness and well-being among the children in the communities we serve. Our vision is for every child in the world to have access to adequate food, water, and shelter and the opportunity to pursue life, liberty, and happiness without ridicule or harm from others. To achieve this, we are dedicated to providing tools, resources, and experiences that support the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of children, their families, and communities in need. We believe that playfulness, creativity, and reflection are essential to human growth and development and are committed to offering programs and activities that promote recreation, sport, spirituality, contemplation, education, and learning for everyone we serve.
Chalfonte’s Mission
Our mission is to eradicate poverty of all forms among children living in the communities we serve and to foster and promote happiness by providing tools, resources, and experiences that support the well-being of those children.
The poverty of a child may include educational, cultural, spiritual, or physical poverty, which includes economic poverty; and poverty of the spirit or body by illness, disease, or injury.
“This is my home…It will always be in my heart no matter where I am in the world.”
— Rebekah Timlin, whose husband died of cystic fibrosis after eighteen months of marriage
