In a heartwarming initiative to support Michigan families facing challenging circumstances, the Chalfonte Foundation is thrilled to announce a unique opportunity for families to enjoy a weeklong vacation at the picturesque Chalfonte House in Elk Rapids, Michigan. Known for hosting camps, retreats, and family events for almost three decades, Chalfonte House, situated just blocks away from the stunning Grand Traverse Bay, is set to provide an unforgettable experience for three deserving families.
How to Apply: Families interested in this exceptional opportunity are invited to submit a family bio of 200-300 words and a compelling 3-page letter of interest. The most compelling letters will be selected to receive an all-expenses-paid weeklong summer vacation at the Chalfonte House. Applications may be completed online through the Chalfonte Foundation's website or mailed to the Foundation directly. This unique opportunity is open to all families living in Michigan.
The Experience: Winning families will enjoy a weeklong stay at the Chalfonte House, a charming facility that has been the cornerstone of the Chalfonte Foundation's programming for over 20 years. Activities will include dining in downtown Elk Rapids, movie nights at the Elk Rapids Cinema, hiking on local trails, and swimming at the beautiful beach just two blocks from the house. The Chalfonte House, with its comfortable amenities and proximity to various local attractions, promises a rejuvenating and memorable experience for all.
Weekend Retreats for Parents: In addition to the weeklong vacations for families, the Chalfonte Foundation continues its longstanding tradition of offering weekend retreats for parents who have experienced the death of a child. For over two decades, the Foundation has hosted weekend retreats for mothers and fathers dealing with the profound experience of the death of their child. This time, the Foundation is extending its support to couples or single mothers and fathers who have experienced such a tragedy. These weekend retreats, like the family vacations, are entirely funded by the Chalfonte Foundation, providing an opportunity for healing and solace.
How to Apply: Complete an application online at www.chalfonte.org/vacation or by mail to Chalfonte Foundation at 205 River Street, Elk Rapids, MI 49629. The application is simply providing contact information, a 200-300 word bio, and a 2-3 page letter of interest. The bio shall include the names and ages of everyone in the family.
How to Support: The Chalfonte Foundation invites individuals and businesses to support their work at the Chalfonte House in Elk Rapids and at the new Camp Chalfonte in Torch Lake by making a donation or providing goods or services. For those interested in supporting the Foundation without a vacation, donations can be made through the Foundation's website or by mailing a check.
