Ride History
The 11 Legged Lake Tour was created as a tribute to Chalfonte Board Member, Ryan Giannini. Ryan died in August of 2002 at the age of 20 from complications of Gorhams Syndrome. The ride started one year later and consisted of 6 riders, one of whom is an above- the- knee amputee (hence the 11 legs). They cycled from Lansing to Elk Rapids, a challenging distance of 200-miles, to reach Chalfonte House, a place Ryan loved dearly.

The 11 Legged Lake Tour has since evolved into a major fundraiser for the Chalfonte Foundation.

The Mission of the Chalfonte Foundation is to provide spiritual, psychosocial, recreational, financial and educational support for children, youth and other individuals and families in need locally and internationally.

Support A Great Organization!
Whether you are an occasional rider or an experienced cyclist, this ride offers something for everyone. Experience more than just gorgeous scenery-participate in a ride that is both challenging and uplifting, while raising support for an amazing organization. Please join us for the Ryan Giannini 11 Legged Lake Tour, created to honor a friend and fellow “Chalfonte kid” who possessed an amazing amount of strength, humor and tolerance. Join us on August 21, 2010, to give others the opportunity and support to be who they want to be and do the things they never thought possible-join us for the ride of your LIFE!
